Merry Meet All,
Welcome to the Apothecary. My mind
was a blank as I sat down to write.
No matter how hard I thought, I couldn't come up with anything
I really
wanted to write about. So I decided to write about the first thing
I saw
when I opened the first book I could grab out of my closet. Real
scientific
way of doing things huh?! Well.....that's what I did and the subject
came
out to be peace and spirituality. Since we all want peace
and we're all on
a search for spirituality.......I thought it fitting. So here goes........
There's many different herbs used for peace and spirituality......I've
listed some below:
Peace
Spirituality
Gardenia
African Violet
Lavender-good for addictions
Arabic, Gum
Meadowsweet
Cinnamon
Morning Glory
Frankincense
Myrtle
Gardenia
Pennyroyal
Myrrh
Scullcap
SandalwoodVervainViolet
You can mix and match these into sachets, simmering pots, incense,
powders,
or bath salts. I'll give a few ideas here to get you started.
Simmering Pot- Recipes for Peace
2 parts Gardenia
1 part Lavender 1 part Gardenia
1 part Lavender OR 2 parts
Violet OR 2 parts
Morning Glory
Simmering Pot- Recipes for Spirituality

2 parts Morning GlorySachet for Peace
2 parts Gardenia1 part Lavender
Sew into a sachet and carry with you. When you feel the need for
"peace"
squeeze or crunch the sachet to release the scent. This is also
good for
helping fight addictions.......such as smoking.
Incense for Spirituality
Blend equal parts Frankincense, Myrrh, and Sandalwood. Start
from here and
find the right blend of these 3 for you. I prefer more Sandalwood
than the
others. Very uplifting. This can also be used as a powder
to sprinkle in
circle before you meditate or start your ritual. It aids in turning
your
awareness to higher levels.
Baths- you can either make a bath salt using the basic recipe given
in
previous edition and adding ingredients from the above list
..........OR...............you can get the small muslin or cheesecloth
bags,
fill them with herbs of your choosing from the list above, and
let
float/sink in the bath.
With any of these, visualization plays a part. For example.......simmering
pot...visualize that peace/spirituality is spreading where ever
the scentis.
Incense...visualize the peace/spirituality in the smoke of the
incense.
Baths- visualize the peace/spirituality washing over you as does
the water.
Well I think you have the idea. Go experiment and have fun.
Remember........measure carefully and write down what you do so
when you
find the right one for you, you'll be able to duplicate it. Have
fun and besafe!
Until next time.....................
Blessed Be,
Mishka
